Melissa Waddington

My name is Melissa Waddington, I have lived in Garston under the bridge all life.

I am currently studying for my master’s degree in youth and community and have been volunteering at the venny to gain some practical experience whilst completing my MA.

I chose to complete an MA in youth and community due to my bachelor’s degree in Childhood and youth and Drama and theatre, I also have a large background in engaging with targeted services as a young person which eventually led me to volunteer in many positions for the service. Most of my voluntary experience included working on a detached team in Garston and being a young inspector for the service, I enjoyed being in both roles and was able to get brilliant experiences from both of the roles. I also have some experience of being involved in youth theatre, I was apart of the Young Everyman and Playhouse which gave me a fantastic experience of devising and being in productions that were put on stage.

My favourite thing to do at the venny is being on the outdoor play area because I enjoy being outdoors and doing physical activities, I also enjoy being in the kitchen as I love to cook though I am certainly not at the standard of Gino D’Acampo!.

Outside of the venny absolute favourite thing to do is to go to the theatre but I also enjoy spending time with family and friends as well as going to the cinema.
