My name is Carmel Moran and I’m the Senior Playworker at Garston Adventure Playground.
I moved to Garston with my family when I was 10 years old and first attended the playground when it opened as a user when I was 13. I then went on to become a volunteer.
Whilst at College studying I worked for the local authority on various Summer Playschemes, this was when I knew what it was I wanted to do with my life. At the age of 21, I applied for the Joint Senior Playworker post at the playground and got the job. I am a mother to one daughter who grew up on the playground, and aunty to lots of nieces and nephews.
When am not working I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling and going to see my favourite team, Everton of course.
Dislikes, cooking, basically because am not very good at it.
I still enjoy working at the playground and helping young people have some happy childhood memories just like those the playground gave me.
